Description

A rock shelter near a natural arch along the Wadi Ti-n-Taborak (one of the wadis composing the Awis fluvial system). The site hosts a rich collection of pecked and pecked and carved Tifinagh inscriptions located on three surfaces and clustered into seven panels. Surface 1 is the external wall to the left of the entrance: here, the inscriptions are concentrated on a single, highly eroded panel. Surface 2 is the central wall and includes two panels. Surface 3 is the bedrock and has four panels, each containing a small number of eroded Tifinagh inscriptions. Several cupules and kettles are visible on the internal surface of the shelter, mainly in correspondence with Panel 2.
